PVT unveils their new video for ‘Homosapien’

PVT unveils their new video for ‘Homosapien’, a unique take on the stop-motion technique, featuring a cast of collaborators, inspiring musicians, friends and supporters. Having already conquered the three dimensional in previous video offering ‘Vertigo’, PVT this time take to a 3’20’’ display of world class instrument-switching; beautifully executed in high contrast grayscale.

Clemens Habicht (Friendly Fires, Bloc Party, Delphic) is back in the director’s chair and even makes a short appearance in the video… along with 40 or so other faces, including but not limited to: Jack Ladder, Sarah Blasko, Kirin J. Callinan and Mrs Pike (yes, Laurence and Richard’s mum), but don’t blink or you might miss it. Says Habicht of the clip;

“This is our third performance video together, our trilogy. The first was Window which was about experiencing being them on stage, then there was Vertigo, and now Homosapien. It is one of those complicated pvt tracks that would be impossible for anyone but them to play and what makes them such a great performance band, seeing them actually make this music live on real instruments. So the idea is to make anyone else improbably able to play it.

We roped in friends and supporters, those die hards who go to all the concerts, fans, partners, managers, faces from the first band incarnation, present collaborators, band photographers including Wilkie who shot this video, i'm in there and so is my dad, Laurence and Rich's long suffering mum, Dave's sommelier…

The video drops in time for PVT’s UK/European tour - a run of dates that sees them playing London, Paris, Berlin and even stopping by Iceland for Reykjavík Music Mess. They were also recently announced on Splendour In The Grass (sold out), seeing them back on home turf come late July.

‘Homosapien’ is taken from PVT’s album of the same name - a work that earned them the ‘royal flush’ of alternative radio Album of the Weeks around its release in Australia, with equally as impressive results across Europe and America.

Splendour In The Grass line up announced!

The Splendour In The Grass line up has finally landed and well worth the wait. The July festival boasts a truckload of huge international acts but even more exciting is the how strong the local talent is.

Of course we are especially excited to see PVT and The Chemist with both band fresh from releasing albums this year that are festival stage worthy.

Parquet Courts Sign to Create/Control to Release Debut LP

Create/Control is excited to announce the addition of another newly acclaimed International act to their growing roster. It’s punk. It’s American. It’s Parquet Courts.

News of the Brooklyn based four-piece landed Downunder after select Australian media had the opportunity to see them play at SXSW just weeks ago. They were one of the most talked about bands of the festival, which is internationally renowned for earmarking new talent.

Create/Control welcomes Patrick James

Sydney based troubadour Patrick James joins the Create/Control family ahead of the release of his debut EP “All About to Change”.

Over the last twelve months, Patrick has been showcasing his wares far and wide across Australia. Along with tours supporting the likes of The Paper Kites and Tim Hart (Boy & Bear) he was Unearthed by triple j and took to the stage in his home town of Port Macquarie for Festival of the Sun with headliners Kimbra and Husky also on the bill .

Additionally, James has consistently been carving his own touring path with crowds multiplying in cities and regional corners around Australia. His forthcoming Sydney show at The Vanguard achieved sold out status weeks before the show, together with a sold out show in Canberra and Melbourne not too far behind.

After a few more of his own shows this April, Patrick will be taking his freshly released EP and joining Emma Louise on her huge national tour celebrating her album Vs. Head Vs. Heart.
